To garner more attention for a recent listing, a real estate agent in Australia threw a Cirque du Soleil-themed open house at the home. The gimmick worked, drawing 120 people and interest from several serious buyers, says Nick Slater, who
listed the property with brokerage McGrath Gunghalin in Canberra, Australia. Slater now expects to sell the home before a scheduled auction on July 22.
Guests were greeted at the party by performances from contortionists, jugglers, and acrobats as they walked through the five-bedroom, four-bath home. Slater says offers of more than $2 million are coming in for the property—which is listed as having an “unimproved value” of about $426,000 U.S. dollars.
“It’s all about raising the game, elevating the buyer experience, and enhancing that experience,” Slater says. “I think it’s an amazing way to market the property and show how to entertain in the house.” Due to the big turnout to his open house, Slater says he may reprise the circus theme for future open houses.
