Real estate professional Orlando Martinez, 54, was found on Wednesday slumped over his car’s steering wheel outside of a home in Philadelphia that he was believed to have been showing to prospective buyers. Martinez had a gunshot wound to his jaw.
Police believe Martinez had been in the vehicle for a full day before he was found by officers. He was still alive when police found him but was pronounced dead a short time later after being rushed to the hospital.
"Right now, we don't have a motive or a suspect. We don't have a description of the offender," Homicide Unit Captain John Ryan told the local Fox affiliate. Police say they believe Martinez was shot inside the car by someone he knew.
Family members had reported Martinez missing on Tuesday.
Martinez was a real estate broker for One Realty Group in North Philadelphia.
“To me, he’s a community guy, well-known,” Nelson Cuello told ABC-6 News. “He helped so many people in the community that I don’t know why something like that happened to him.”
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information from the public.
